Modeled after the King Under the Mountain himself, this hand-knit scarf mimics the shape and color of Smaug's scales. The scarf is knit in a honeycomb pattern, with cables invoking the criss-crossing of a dragon's armor. The yarn's colors consist of variegated reds, oranges and browns. Look closely and you'll see flecks of gold thread, like the many pieces of gold encrusted in Smaug's belly. Of course, the scarf doesn't feel like iron - a round of blocking has left it soft and silky. The Smaug scarf is the next best thing to real dragon skin.
